HS GENERAL INFORMATION
WHERE WE ARE WITH OUR NEW HIGH SCHOOL BUILDINGS
We bought property adjacent to the primary school in order to establish our high school. The year was 2003.
In 2004, we made the decision to open a high school. In 2005 we obtained our approvals from the GED and set about designing the school uniform, creating the application form and doing all the administration work around establishing a new school.
Initially the learners were to be on the same property as the primary school. So in 2006 we launched the high school and welcomed about 12 grade 8 learners.
While this was happening, we began the process of getting approval from the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (GDRAD) for the high school on the new property. It took us from 2008 to 2015, before we got the approval we were looking for. (See the History button). We worked with 4 MEC’s because there was so much corruption in GDARD and we refused to pay any bribes.
In 2015, we began the process of obtaining approvals from the Johannesburg municipality to build the school. We had many studies and assessments to do, plans to submit and so on. From the outset there were delays. Eventually we hired and fired two Town Planners for non performance before appointing a Keswa Construction to complete the studies and build the building. This was in 2022. The building was to be finished by August 2023. Again there were delays and we found out that the Building Control section of the municipality had shut down the project because the necessary approvals had not been obtained. We also found out that Keswa Construction had submitted fraudulent approvals
Instead of moving into the new buildings in 2024, and completing the sports fields in 2025 ready for our 40th celebration in 2026, Keswa Construction had effectively taken our money and left us stranded.
We were going to have to start the entire process of obtaining the necessary approvals all over again. This has cost us millions but God has always provided the finances for us to do what was required of us.
We are nearly done with this process and by the grace of God will be able to slowly begin the completion of the buildings and fields. Where the devil is an obstacle in the way, Jesus will move him out of His way.
